After my last Lvl 30 val was overwhelmed by summon nasties monsters on the way back up with the amulet, I’ve got a new Val with potential.

By luck I’ve managed to find 7 magic lamps and a WOW with 1 final charge from several bones levels, and I’ve yet to reach the castle level. The bones files have also kitted me out with all the armor I need, which is now fully enchanted and rust/fire proof, I have Excalibur and Molnjir, and a silver saber. I’ve a bunch of magic markers in my stash.

Now I’m not sure what (if anything) I should be wishing for with all those unused blessed magic lamps and the guaranteed wand of wishin from the castle.

For my last unsuccessful run, I feel I was underprepared as I was unable to overcome the nasties that Rodney kept summoning.

Spoiler alert...

Maybe take the advantage to break some conducts? Ideas:

  • Polymorph control and unchanging, then become an arch-lich.
    • You'll regenerate and get hit less.
  • Artifacts, like Eyes of the Overworld or Grayswandir.
  • Cockatrice corpse, when surrounded by monsters in the endgame.
    • Save some wand charges for this, use lamps for the other things...

Those should already give you a much easier time. If you make and stockpile potions of full healing, polyself to arch-lich and have the valkyrie quest artifact, losing all HP even surrounded by monsters will take a really long time.

Less helpful but fun:

  • Blessed ki-rin figurine.
    • Get a saddle and train with a horse first.
  • Helm of Brilliance and spellbooks, then try to play also as a spellcaster.
    • Get a robe and some non-armor form of magic resistance, wear SDSM.
    • For spellcasting energy, maybe get the priest or wizard quest artifact, depending on alignment.
