Killer bee

The killer bees look like the letter 'a', come in large numbers, and can easily kill you, one sting at a time, before you can kill the whole bunch of them.

Unless you have an area weapon or awesome armor class, discretion is usually the better part of valor here. Have an escape route handy if you find yourself suddenly surrounded by these little nasties.

Another tactic would be to fight them in a single hex tunnel, so that only one of them could sting you each round.

Eating enough of them confers poison resistance intrinsics. As you continue to eat more killer bee corpses, you will get the message 'You feel healthy' indicating that you now possess poison resistance.
