The "optimal time between invocations" is geared towards maximizing the number of invocations over a very large number of invocations. This made sense for the which made good sense for the liquid diet Tourist who was going to do the same thing for the entire game. Most strategies in the wiki are a bit more conservative, however. They read, eg, "95% of the time you'll get Q invocations in under P turns with such-and-such invocation strategy."
