Talk:Beartrap

From what I can see in the source code, the 'roaring of an angry bear' can occur if an owlbear or bugbear (specifically) sets off a beartrap. It might be more appropriate to note that on the trap page rather than the one about the item? There is already a note on that page for a 'confused' bear when one of those creatures gets caught in a web.

It kept bugging me that there was stuff about the tool on the trap page, and stuff about the trap on the tool page, so I tried my best to fix it up. MysterX 08:02, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

As of 2022, the trap article links out to an individual article for each trap type. We should rename this article to "bear trap" (the trap type), because that is what players encounter first. And then a subordinate section for "beartrap" (the object). -- Furey (talk) 20:13, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
