There's like a total of 5 (?) people who actively play/know how dnethack works at this point (me, NeroOTK, Tarmunora, Demo, Chris (dev)). I haven't seen nero or tarmunora in ages, Demo is working on his own variant, and Chris is perennially AWOL.
