Amusing and confusing info box

So I don’t know if these are intended, if they’re bugs in dNetHack, or just errors in the info box, but I don’t think these water dolphins are biologically accurate.

They cannot pick up items, but they can pick up weapons and food.

They are animals, but also elves for some reason?

They can’t be tamed.

And additionally they lay eggs!

I’m curious about the rationale for all this. Ngl, if dolphins are actually elves in dNetHack that’s kinda hilarious.
