Blindness is an inability to see. Normally, blindness is temporary, and you can wait for it heal, or if you know how, you can cure blindness.
A cream pie, when thrown, is one source of blindness; Keystone Kops will throw them at you, and you might throw some at monsters. The easy way to see again is to use the #wipe command, so do not waste a spell of cure blindess in that case. In contrast, #wipe is useless when a raven pokes out your eyes.
