A dumplog is a record of a players belongings, attributes, etc. that is saved at the end of a game. NetHack 3.6.0 and earlier[1], in its unmodified form, does not produce a dumplog. A player using tty can cut and paste off the screen.

The dump patch confers the ability to create a dumplog. Many public servers use this patch.
