An elven cloak provides MC3 and stealth. It is a faded pall when unidentified. Elven cloaks, along with elven boots, are among the lightest and most common magical armor, making them ideal for polypiling.
Note that unlike elven boots, wearing an elven cloak does not give any special message to indicate that you are stealthy.
Elven Rangers always start with a +2 elven cloak upon entering the dungeon.
