Grayswandir is one of the most coveted weapons in Nethack. It is a lawful silver saber, and does an extra d5 to hit and silver damage, and it prevents hallucination. It also deals double damage to all targets. It is widely considered one of the best weapons in the game, as the extra silver damage is very good against the many tough demons and devils encountered in Gehennom and the double damage it deals is effective against all monsters, even the endgame Riders, unlike Fire Brand and Frost Brand.
