#loot is an external command used to open an unlocked container on the floor. Containers in the inventory are opened by applying them.

You cannot loot locked containers, you have to apply some unlocking tools at them first. If you do not have any, you may #force or kick the lock open. However, kicking may destroy the contents: you will hear muffled shatter in case that happens.

Sometimes looting a container may trigger a trap, such as a poison needle at you.
