Introduction
Fountains are dungeon furniture represented by a <weird character>. They are found randomly scattered throught the dungeon, usually in rooms that do not have any other dungeon furniture (ie: chests, sinks) in them. A randomly generated fountain will have a 1/7 chance of being blessed. You use a fountain by dipping items into it, and by quaffing its water. Upon use, the fountain has a 1/3 chance of drying up. You recieve no warning before this happens, except in mine town where the guards get angry when you destroy objects.

Quaffing from a fountain
You can drink from a fountain by using the quaff command while standing over it. Upon doing so you get a message indicating the results. The results of quaffing from a fountain are dependant upon its BUC status, your status, and the condition of dungeon monsters. Randomly generated fountains have a 1/7 chance of being blessed, an attribute that cannot be determined prior to use.
