In NetHack, all monsters are classified in six distinct sizes: Tiny --> Small --> Medium --> Large --> Huge --> Gigantic[1][2]. Only monsters medium or smaller can wear shirts, armor, or cloaks. Size also restricts which monsters can move diagonally through a crack.
