  1. Turn your head 90° to the left.
  2. If you see a wall or something similar direct in front of your eyes turn your head 180° to the right.
  3. If you still see a wall turn your body additionally 90° to the right.
  4. What you see now is part of your real life.
    • If you still see nothing but a wall, then possibly something trapped in you in a box.

Real life is the term used of events that do not happen inside your computer but rather in the physical world. In the context of NetHack, real life is most often referred to in the acronym NHINRL, NetHack Is Not Real Life.
