Allows you to learn the invisibility spell. This is the special spell for rangers. Casting this spell causes you to turn invisible for 31 to 45 (more) turns. There is always a spellbook of invisibility generated in a chest on the middle level of Vlad's Tower.
Strategy
This spell is likely the worst in NetHack. It might be useful if you only want temporary invisibility, in particular for entering shops. However, since permanent invisibility and a mummy wrapping will also allow you enter shops, and relieves you of the burden of constantly recasting the spell, it is often a better option (except that replacing your cloak might make you more vulnerable to monsters while shopping). Rangers are very unlikely to be able to make use of this special spell of theirs before they find a mummy wrapping and a means of permanent invisibility.
