:A bow being considered one handed might work for cursed-weapon considerations, but not for shield considerations. I've never fired a bow, but I highly doubt you can fire a bow while carrying a large shield. Cursed arrows shouldn't matter because for whatever reason Nethack decides that firing an arrow from a bow does not count as wielding it. Maybe it's just because of the way you hold the arrow compared to the way you hold a bow or a sword. -- [[User:Qazmlpok|Qazmlpok]] 18:03, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

"In addition to the regular bow, there are elven, orcish, and Japanese versions."

Is it OK to fire orcish/elven arrows from normal one? Bulwersator 20:38, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Orcish, elven, samurai, and normal arrows, bows, and races (class for samurai) can be mixed without penalty, but there's a racial/class bonus if the bow, arrow, and the player are all of the same type. An orc player will shoot elven arrows from an elven bow just as well as a human, but an orc player shooting orc arrows from an orc bow will get a +1 multishot (and +1 damage IIRC) bonus. -- Qazmlpok 21:02, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

A bow being considered one handed might work for cursed-weapon considerations, but not for shield considerations.
