- Yes, they're human. You get dinged for murder only for killing a peaceful human, and it's sacrificing your own race rather than humans specifically that makes Bad Things happen at altars.--Ray Chason 18:26, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
For some reason when I polymorph and return to my Doppelganger form my Total HP on that form gets reduced is this normal? (I have been morphing in Umber Hulks if that helps).

- No. This wiki is primarily about vanilla NetHack, so the unqualified title “Doppelganger” should refer to what it means in vanilla.
- I've added a disambiguation link to the top of the page, though. Making “Doppelganger”a proper disambiguation page wouldn't help SLASH'EM players, and it would inconvenience vanilla players, so I don't think it should happen. -- Killian 01:44, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
