I don't get where the damage calculation comes from.  Music.c#do_improvisation suggests that it's rn1(6,6).  There's a define in hack.h that says rn1(x,y) is rn2(x)+(y).  rnd.c says that rn2 is just rnd(x), which picks a number between 0 and x-1.  Where's the mistake in my logic?  That would suggest a max damage of just 5+6=11.  Uck. -twinotter

: The argument that's passed to buzz is the number of dice to roll – so rn1(6,6) will roll (6–11)d6 (or better (1d6+5)d6), hence maxing out at 66 damage.  This perhaps ought to be clarified.  —antalsz (talk) 04:26, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

"SLASH'EM players who want to wish for an instrument can ask for a "blessed frost horn"." Why Nethackers can't? Is there really a need to wish such a tool when there's more practical magical tonal instruments around, even worth for wishing for some classes. -Progo 15:18, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Uck. -twinotter

The argument that's passed to buzz is the number of dice to roll – so rn1(6,6) will roll (6–11)d6 (or better (1d6+5)d6), hence maxing out at 66 damage. This perhaps ought to be clarified. —antalsz (talk) 04:26, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
