:: [[You hear]] a thud when "a monster has stepped on a polymorph trap (or a lycanthrope has changed into its animal form) out of your sight and become too small for its body armor, thus dropping it." Finding the trap

Sometimes, I "hear a thud", but when I walk over every room tile of the level, no trap is there. What is happening? -Tjr 18:34, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Later, I used save-scumming and explore mode to read a confused scroll of gold detection, and there was definitely no polymorph trap on that level. But I am sure I had "You hear a thud." Can that message be generated in any other way? -Tjr 21:08, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
You hear a thud when "a monster has stepped on a polymorph trap (or a lycanthrope has changed into its animal form) out of your sight and become too small for its body armor, thus dropping it."
