Trolls are a class of monster in NetHack, notable for reviving after being killed (as with the endgame Riders). They are therefore considered one of the more annoying monsters.
To permanently kill a troll, you can lock its corpse in a container, eat the corpse, or fill the level with monsters after killing it.
The troll, T, is also the least powerful monster of this class. Other types of troll include ice trolls, rock trolls, water trolls and Olog-hai.
