i am a lev21 hu monk at dlev 48 and there is no down stair case and it is not the level with the vibrating square i have tride to dig down but the ground was to hard to dig throgh and thoghts on how to proseding down (sory about the spelling)

If you can't dig down, you're on the vibrating square level. No other special level can appear that low in the dungeon. It's a pain to find the vibrating square, so you'll just need to search the entire level for it. -- Qazmlpok 02:55, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

It can be under objects, including boulders, but not under trap, walls, or in certain locations considered "too easy". I personally magic map the level, then load a screenshot in an image editor and color the path I have searched. --Tjr 03:04, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
