I am considering making a new level for NetHack to supplement Vlad's tower. Does anyone know the dimentions of a level or if there is an interface for planning out a new level online?

The maximum size of a NetHack level is 79 by 21. Most levels that the game actually uses (e.g. Gehennom mazes) are 77 by 19; I'm not sure if there's some reason for this or if it's simply a case of miscounting.

Look at the .des files in the dat/ folder for level definitions. You can use tools called "lev_comp" and "dgn_comp" (which ship with the game) to replace and/or add new level definitions in the game's data.
