A scroll of cloning is a type of scroll that appears in SpliceHack and Hack'EM.
Description
Reading a scroll of cloning will prompt the player to select an item in their character's inventory, and creates a usually-identical clone of that item, with a cursed scroll producing a cloned item that is cursed and has less charges or enchantment than the original. Reading the scroll while confused has a chance of cloning the character instead, creating a monster corresponding to their current form[1] - this clone may not be tame, even if the game lists it as tame.
Even if the scroll is not cursed, certain items will not be perfectly cloned:[2]
