Polymorpshing my quest boss
so I am at the archiologist quest and I was attempting to polymorph my boss enemy the minion I am polymorphed as a genetic engineer obviously yet I can not polymorph him. Is it something special about quest bosses? Also just as a aside is it possible to convert to in side the quest? There are obviously altars of all three alignments in the achieolgist quest. If I converted to Chaos how would that affect my the Quest? I am assuming nothing. Ndwolfwood 23:14, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- He's carrying the Orb of Detection, which gives magic resistance. Your only chance now is to polymorph into a foocubus (or any monster with a theft attack; I think they have the highest base level however), steal the item from him, and place it into a container so he can't steal it back. Then polymorph into a genetic engineer, and you should be able to tame him. -- Qazmlpok 00:28, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
I thought it didn't matter with the genetic enjineer attack since it works on riders who have 100% resistance. Okay thanks for clearing that upNdwolfwood 01:22, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- MR is not the same as magic resistance. magic resistance, e.g. from the cloak, GDSM, and several quest artifacts prevent all forms of polymorph. It's also all-or-nothing. I'd say MR is closer to MC in function, and both work as percents. MR does prevent some thing, including polymorph traps, but the genetic engineer's attack ignores MR (but not magic resistance), which is why it works on the riders. -- Qazmlpok 01:36, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
I turned into a pixie and did as you said. I am problay going to dump the Minon at some poin but for rght now it is kinda amusing having a pet that tells me every few turns it is going to feast on my entrails Ndwolfwood 06:43, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
3.7.0 - teleport or not?
In the Upcoming box re 3.7.0: "They cannot teleport" vs "Genetic engineers will teleport away if possible after metamorphosing a monster". Which is it? -Actual-nh (talk) 15:27, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- This respects teleport restrictions. On a no-teleport level, it isn't possible for them to teleport, so they will fail to do so. - Andrio Celos (talk) 13:11, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
