Partly eaten sacrifice

Bcode removed the rounding part: "Partially-eaten corpses normally have their value decreased by roughly the percentage that's been eaten. But NetHack rounds down, often to zero."

Why is that considered incorrect information? In my own gaming experience, I've never been able to sacrifice partly eaten corpses. --Tjr (talk) 15:25, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Chances of receiving an artifact

The breakdown for your current chance to receive an artifact is a little unclear. The "Number of existing artifacts" suggests that destroying some of the artifacts in your game would increase the chances of receiving new ones, but people in #nethack tell me this is not the case. Also, artifact wishing considers how many artifacts have been generated so far, not the number currently existing, so I don't see why sacrifice gifts would either — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.232.43 (talkcontribs) 21:17, 4 August 2013

True. Additionally, your crowning spellbook increments the gift counter, even though it is not an artifact. Your quest artifact counts as artifact created as soon as you visit the quest home level, but the bell, book, candelabrum do not count. --Tjr (talk) 06:13, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

little bug with human sacrifice as chaotic

When you sacrifice a human as a chaotic. A peaceful daemon prince will appear.

The bug is, that apparently it still moving as if it is attacking. It will teleport around you from time to time, getting in your way, blocking the corridor for a few turns etc... If you wield bloodthirsty stormbringer is maddening.

For me, its enough of an annoyance to simply avoid sacrificing humans....

....some one wants to confirm and mention the bug in the article?--94.109.86.172 19:44, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

That's just the nature of covetous monsters. The best solution I can think of is to lead it to an up stairs, burn Elbereth (or levitate over dust writing), and kill it for free experience. --Darth l33t (talk) 20:43, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
If you're trying to avoid attacking peaceful monsters (or peaceful demon lords), leading it up to Sokoban and forgetting about it may be another option. Hoanwan (talk) 12:22, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
