How about monsters with a theft-attack? Nymphs, monkeys, leprechauns. Maybe we should create a disambiguation page? --ZeroOne 17:43, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Agreed, and done. --Jayt 19:36, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
The 200 rock steal should be considered a cheat, I doubt the creators intended it to be possible. --124.197.54.130 00:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

The "if the shopkeeper is adjacent, they will grab your pack" thing is incorrect, i was three squares away and they "Leaped" and grabbed my pack. Somebody should test whether theres any distance that will allow this tactic, or whether its a whole-shop coverage area. Shadyjames 02:26, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

direct theft

two direct theft methods are missing. if your character is strong enough and/or if you're levitating you can throw a ball chained to you while the shopkeeper isn't blocking the door to escape the shop. if you're saddled pet stands directly in front of the exit and thus the shopkeeper can't block the door you can mount it and thus escape the shop without the need of digging pits.

Wands

I killed a shopkeeper with a lvl 1 player by getting him between me, an empty square, and a wall zapping him with a wand of fire do that it bounced. It took 3 hits 1 miss and 2 zaps to kill him.

pet stealing

Using your pet to steal from a shop is listed as both indirect and direct. What is the difference? --Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.46.245.231 (talkcontribs) 12 March 2009

Indirect is incorrect. The shop owner won't become angered like the other direct methods mentioned. I will edit the page. --SaintD 22:15, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Stinking cloud

Usually shopkeepers will stand still while you stink them, but not always. (Even if you aren't invisible.) Is there a way to make sure they die? --Tjr 17:39, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

pick-axe

Stealing is only half as fun if your pick-axe becomes irretreavable. Apart from containers, jumping, reverse pet stealing, or the methods for entering/leaving while invisible, I'm not aware of a way to take it along into the shop. -Tjr 15:30, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
