A crystal pick is a type of tool that appears in UnNetHack. It is a one-handed tool that can be used as a weapon. The crystal pick uses the pick-axe skill, and is made of metal.
Generation
Crystal picks are only normally found in Sheol: on the final floor, two crystal picks are generated within the lair of the Executioner, with one each in the two chests that are directly adjacent to the chest containing a magic marker.
Description
The crystal pick is the only pick capable of digging through crystal ice walls (hence its name), and tunnels through walls twice as fast as any other pick.
Strategy
Crystal picks are a superior form of pick for any character, as it is inherently erosion-proofed and deals impressive damage that can outpace many other one-handed weapons - in particular, it matches the damage of a crysknife versus small monsters and surpasses them against large ones. An enchanted crystal pick might be a good candidate for a non-magical wish (i.e. from any source other than a wand of wishing).
