I've downloaded the nethack 3.4.3 and everytime i try to use a command that starts with "^", it doesn't work. In fact when I write "^" the screen blinks and doesn't appear nothing in the command line. --Antoniodamala 17:44, 24 April 2011 (UTC) Antoniodamala

Are you typing a '^'? '^' usually means press ctrl and the next key. So ^k means hold down ctrl and press k. -- Qazmlpok 17:48, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
For completeness, there are are two cases you actually type ^: 1) to display traps covered by items next to you, 2) to go to the beginning of a large menu. In those cases, you may need to type ^space if you have a deadkey keyboard layout. --Tjr 18:30, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
