: dat/history from Slash'Em mentions that "Warren Cheung combined SLASH 4.1.2 and Wizard Patch to  create SLASH'EM 0.1 in November 1997." Ali Harlow's[http://www.juiblex.co.uk/nethack/source.html] page has a link to a RGRN posting by Warren that doesn't mention the name "SLASH'EM" yet but fits the date of November 1997. Given the later nomenclature this version should probably called 0.0.1 --[[User:Bhaak|Bhaak]] ([[User talk:Bhaak|talk]]) 14:04, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Is there any evidence that SLASH'EM existed before 1998? I found [1] but I was unable to find announcement post, the first date on slashem website is Jan 7 1998. Bulwersator (talk) 08:58, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Here's the announcement. Prior history can be found under pages for the predecessors NetHack--, NetHack Plus, SLASH and the Wizard Patch. The earliest ancestor of SLASH'EM that is distinct from vanilla is NetHack-- 3.0.10, announced on 10 December 1992.--Ray Chason (talk) 19:32, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
