Welcome, Bulwersator!

Welcome!

Hi! Welcome, and thanks for joining NetHackWiki!

  • The How to help and Style guide pages are excellent starting points.
  • Special:Recentchanges is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
  • Questions? Need help? You can ask at the Community Portal or on the discussion page associated with each article! Just remember to sign those posts with four tildes: ~~~~. That will expand to create a signature.

We are really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!

This is an automated greeting. -- The Welcome Bot 18:13, 19 Apr 2024 (UTC)

Off-topic image

The picture have no connection with the Nethack. Bulwersator 20:24, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
True. This wiki will automatically look for images on m:Wikimedia_Commons if they can't be found locally. Normally this shouldn't cause problems because off-topic files will not be referenced anywhere. How did you come across it? --Tjr 21:06, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

(I copied the reply here to make sure you see it in at least one place.) Thank you for watching out and keeping the wiki on-topic! --Tjr 21:12, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Source code reference format

You recently added references in the <ref>[[Uhitm.c#line267]]</ref> format to the wiki. Please do not do this.

Template:Refsrc and Template:Reffunc exist to add source code references which share a common style that can easily be adjusted as necessary. Please use these in the future; it's enough work to clean up the existing "bare" references without new ones being added.

Another note: Your reference capitalized the beginning of the file name. Please do not do this, either. The file names are all-lowercase. There is no file named Uhitm.c, only a file named uhitm.c. (On the wiki and on some platforms, these refer to the same page/file. That doesn't change the above, though: netHack and NetHack refer to the same page, too, though the game is called NetHack, not netHack.)

Of course, any references are better than no references at all. That's no reason not to use {{refsrc}}, though.

Thanks! —bcode talk | mail 23:10, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Broken link

Just to let you know, you added an apparently broken link to Bugs in NetHack 3.4.3 (diff). —bcode talk | mail 21:24, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Template:Refsrc redirect

Hi,

I noticed you redirected your user page to Template:Refsrc in a recent edit. May I ask why? It's your user page, so I'm not going to tell you not to do it, but it's probably confusing if people find themselves on a template page when trying to view your user page.

(Interestingly, this does mean your user page can be used as template: try {{User:Bulwersator|allmain.c|42}} in NetHackWiki:Sandbox (you'll also have to add a references section to see that it works). I doubt that's what you intended, though.)

If you just want to experiment, try the sandbox or a personal sandbox if you prefer that. It's probably a better idea than using your user page directly (as that usually has information about the user). —bcode talk | mail 12:51, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
