Forum:NetHack Wiki vs. Cataclysm Darks Days Ahead Wiki

I have been thinking about this for some time now, with how thorough the users of the NetHack wiki are, I think some should consider joining in the Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead wiki, the wiki is quite underpopulated and could use some of the thorough up to date info and love that most of you are always giving to this wiki.

I know I can do some editing, but it really helps to have some thorough users to correct any mistakes I make like in this NetHack Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrSurvivor1997 (talkcontribs)

The NetHack wiki is a reflection of the NetHack player base. Specifically, NetHack has a substantial number of dedicated and nerdy long-term players, people who have been playing the game for decades and for whom obsessing over minutia is a core personality trait. The kind of people who take notes while playing a game. That's the kind of people NetHack has always attracted, not the result of some magic wiki promotion that someone has done. Before the wiki, there were detailed NetHack "spoilers" that people passed around on usenet or by email. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonadab (talkcontribs)

I just thought it was worth asking due to how thorough the users on this wiki were, I did think CDDA was as popular as NetHack as a roguelike game, but I guess I’ll have be one of the few editors on that wiki. Sorry I suggested. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrSurvivor1997 (talkcontribs)

Your suggestion is also somewhat "misplaced" for the simple reason that you are presuming editors here must also necessarily be dedicated CDDA players, which in turn assumes they are even remotely aware of the game (e.g., me - I know OF Cataclysm but have yet to play it). --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 08:11, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
