Ha! You realise you have been part of the target audience for this project, a tiny fanfic tribute to Slash 'Em Extended :-) Anyhow, I guess with stats we're looking for something like the table here? Trouble is, it's guesswork for me with a lot of this, especially the difficulty, level, and XP value.  Guidance is welcomed. Veal curries and Phone zombies on offer :-) Wikid (talk) 09:44, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Super - what I'll do is keep this page as an index, and link to category pages for the descriptors. Thanks for encouragement! I was planning to make the veal currie more electric than fiery though (Valkyrie spin-off).  Phone zombies are blind and invisible (mainly invisible because they think they are); collision with a phone zombie has a chance of summoning the Kops.  :-) Wikid (talk) 09:24, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

I decided in the end to not take the content to a page called "VoR's Hallucinatory Bestiary".  Because I am worried that the posting of hallucinatory content in the main Wiki will draw the ire of the Wiki Mods.  Even though one day it will ALL be REAL. Thanks for those links -- some source-diving for me there.  Hey wow, I could be part of SLEX Devs! :-) I'm still holding out that some other variant might add these ideas to its hallucinatory code.  One day maybe :-)  Okay, back to it … </p>

PS I think when / if any / some of this makes it to playable code, I can take the page into the main wiki.  No hurry :-) Wikid (talk) 02:43, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! The starting idea was just for the names. I don't think I designed anything radically new. It seemed the theme was to take some predictable features of the game, and give them a 2% tweak. For example, there's alternative versions of Minetown, Mine's End, and Sokoban in vanilla, and if you go to the variants, alternative versions of the Castle, and Gehennom, etc. But I hadn't seen an alternative Oracle out there so far (after this I'm bound to find out there's a 100 of them!), also the concept of shop monsters hasn't really got further than mimics. Plus there's a lot more scope for construct monsters I think, e.g. the animated scrolls and tools – we've seen some of that already with the Killer Coins.  Along the way I also thought of another artifact (Snippety-Snap the +4 scroll and armour-shredding scissors, possibly should snip other paper and fabrics as well, maybe can invoke or apply for item crafting e.g. re-sizing armours) and the unofficial Barter conduct (a relative of SaintD's Moneyless). Dungeonmodders! VoR brings you his hallucinatory bestiary, currently counted at denizens 56. Today it is a topic for the Forum, but beware tomorrow. You may find that your fevered dream has become REALITY!

Wikid (talk) 03:16, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

You know what would be cool? If you could give stats that those monsters might have if they existed, because I'm developing a variant that will implement (almost) any monster idea no matter how silly ;) --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 06:05, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Oh great! Yeah it doesn't have to be exact stats actually, just stuff like monster glyph (unless it's obvious, e.g. in the cases of the colored unicorns I already know they'd be 'u' and the color is in their name :D), maybe their main attacks and other specialties. For example: "phone zombie: level 20 gray Z that can gate in demons (basically "call them with their phone"); veal curry: level 13 orange % that breathes fire and also conveys fire resistance when eaten". I'd then use my artistic license to fill in the rest of the monst.c entries :D Many thanks, I *really* like your idea! --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 11:30, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Gotcha 10 new unicorns and 2 morality monsters! :-) Wikid (talk) 09:37, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

That's great! I'll implement them eventually :) Also you may look at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SLASHEM-Extended/SLASHEM-Extended/master/include/monsym.h and https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SLASHEM-Extended/SLASHEM-Extended/master/include/monattk.h for inspiration, because since SLEX is most probably the only variant in existence that would ever implement your monsters, you might as well also use the SLEX-specific monster types and attacks :D In fact, some monster classes (e.g. flying fish, rub monsters and wall monsters) are in desperate need of new interesting members, and the list of available monster attacks in slex makes it possible to have all kinds of interesting attack combos! Good work, keep it coming ♥ --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 12:31, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for those links -- some source-diving for me there. Hey wow, I could be part of SLEX Devs! :-) I'm still holding out that some other variant might add these ideas to its hallucinatory code. One day maybe :-) Okay, back to it …

… whew! All done now. Maybe I'll dream up some more later. And I've taken it to the main wiki

Woohoo! Hopefully I can soon find the time to put them into SLEX :) --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 13:55, 4 August 2019 (UTC)
