Contents
Generation
Gladius are very rare in Hack'EM. They don't appear randomly in SpliceHack.
In either variant, skeletons can sometimes be generated with a gladius.
Strategy
A gladius is quite effective in it's damage against small monsters, but it lags behind the other short swords versus large monsters.
In Hack'EM it is possible to create one by #crafting a short sword and a broadsword together.
History
The gladius first appears in SpliceHack.
In SLASHTHEM, there is a neutral aligned artifact short sword called Gladius which is the first sacrifice gift for the gladiator role. It gives +8 to-hit and +7 damage in combat.
