The minotaur, H, is an especially deadly NetHack monster. There is always at least one generated on a maze level, and will always carry a wand of digging. They are notoriously difficult to kill and deal out incredible amount of damage, leading to many deaths by their hands even by experienced players. They are also infamous for being one of the few monsters to ignore Elbereth.
