The ring of aggravate monster is a rather dangerous ring, and usually (90% of the time) cursed. Wearing (or eating) it gives you the property of aggravate monster.
When dropping this ring down a sink, you receive the message: "Several flies buzz angrily around the sink." (This also works while blind.)
The effects of this ring are entirely negative. As such, it is typically best to simply ignore these rings, or polymorph them if the player has spare charges or power.
Pudding farmers who happen across a ring of aggravate monster might want to use one to help them untame a pudding who they tamed in order to transport it across levels. The ring is hardly necessary for this purpose, though.
