A rubber hose is a rarely seen weapon that appears in NetHack. Rubber hoses use the whip skill.
Generation
Rubber hoses are not randomly generated. They are only normally found in the inventory of Keystone Kops.
Effect
A rubber hose does much more damage than a bullwhip against both small and large monsters, and its damage is not negated against thick-skinned monsters. Unlike a bullwhip, it cannot be applied for special effects.
Strategy
A rubber hose is not particularly useful as a weapon, and since it lacks a bullwhip's other utilities (e.g. disarming monsters), it will mostly be considered polyfodder if not outright junk.
