In NetHack, a runed broadsword can be the unidentified appearance of one of the following items:
A runed broadsword is most likely to be an elven broadsword, since ordinary runeswords are typically not seen outside of bones level containing Stormbringer that are found while you have already generated the artifact weapon in your game. Both weapons also use different colors and tiles.
