(can't die to monsters on turn 1)

I left the note about monsters attacking on the first turn as a comment, as it's not generally good style to have running debates in articles.  It seems to me to be possible that foxes, which are faster than the average player, could attack on the first turn.  If so, yes, it is extremely improbable, but even 3-4 of them generated around the player could finish them off on turn one.  But the question remains, do monsters attack at all on the first turn?  I don't know if one could test that in wizard mode, honestly, since I doubt the ^g create monster command works the same way.  -Ion frigate 14:58, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

:I think they don't. Monsters are created with 0 movement energy, and need 12 to move, and it refills at the end of a turn. I've wiztested this as well (by startscumming for a normal-speed monster in line of sight on turn 1); a grid bug (speed 12, so it should move every turn) doesn't move on the player's first turn, presumably because it requires time to recharge. Thus, I don't think it's possible to die to a monster attack on turn 1. Ais523

I think they don't. Ais523 15:02, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
