Meanwhile, when [[you]] die, a gravestone will always appear at the end of your game (unless you disable it), regardless of whether or not NetHack created a bones file. There is even a [[special room]], the [[graveyard]], that contains both tombstones and [[undead]] monsters. I have a grave on dungeon level 2; it says "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" when I walk over it -- unsigned from 62.254.0.38
Random graves, like those of Beetlejuice, Kenneth Toy and others, are not from bones files and do not represent dead NetHack players. Meanwhile, when you die, a gravestone will always appear at the end of your game (unless you disable it), regardless of whether or not NetHack created a bones file.
