: Solars never go feral, ever, even if you leave them on a separate level for several thousands of turns. Once above a certain level they are also immune to the effects of conflict. Not sure if it s the same as an Archon, where they ignore conflict at level 25. You could give the crown to a tame Solar and with a nicely enchanted artifact weapon(e.g. Excalibur), maybe a shield of reflection, and an amulet of life saving that would make a pretty kick @ss pet!
