Ubuntu is a free operating system based on Debian.
The NetHack packages provided in the Ubuntu repositories ( as of version 3.4.3-10.2ubuntu1 ) are based off of the Debian package and are functionally equivalent to it.
SLASH'EM packages are also provided.
