I've not tried most of the variants. I played Slash'EM for a while, but it crashed hard on me in the middle of a big game, so I gave up on it. Still holing out hope that the DevTeam will deliver an update in my lifetime.

Will try to contribute back in the unlikely event I discover something that's not already explained here :-).
