Forum:Upper limit to artifacts?

After getting a bunch of crummy artifacts via sacrificing i started getting worried. Is there a limit to how many artifacts can exist in the game? Do you know if the same applies to unnethack? Onlyinred (talk) 15:21, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- There's no upper limit in vanilla, but the odds drop exponentially, see Sacrifice#Gifts. There's still no reason to worry, though, since nobody needs an artifact weapon. Just get a well-enchanted long sword or dwarvish mattock or trident or silver saber, or make yourself a crysknife, and make do with it. --Darth l33t (talk) 15:41, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
