A venom shield is a type of shield that appears in SporkHack. It is made of iron, and appears as a dark green shield when unidentified.

Generation
Venom shields make up 1⁄500 (0.2%) of all armor that is randomly generated on the ground, in general shops or as death drops. Used armor dealerships and antique weapon outlets can also stock venom shields.
Description
While worn, a venom shield grants 2 base AC and poison resistance. Despite its material, the venom shield is not considered bulky armor, although it still applies the same level of spellcasting penalty as most other shields due to its weight of 50 aum.[1]
Strategy
The venom shield is fairly valuable for heroes that want to maintain maximum protection against sources of poison damage and have not yet built up enough intrinsic poison resistance from eating corpses. Identification of the shield is trivial due to its unique unidentified appearance.
