A lightning shield is a type of shield that appears in SporkHack. It is made of iron, and appears as a dull yellow shield when unidentified.

Generation
Lightning shields make up 1⁄500 (0.2%) of all armor that is randomly generated on the ground, in general shops or as death drops. Used armor dealerships and antique weapon outlets can also stock lightning shields.
Description
While worn, a lightning shield grants 2 base AC and shock resistance. Despite its material, the lightning shield is not considered bulky armor, although it still applies the same level of spellcasting penalty as most other shields due to its weight of 50 aum.[1]
Strategy
The lightning shield is fairly valuable for heroes that want to maintain maximum protection against sources of shock damage and have not yet built up enough intrinsic shock resistance from eating corpses. Identification of the shield is trivial due to its unique unidentified appearance.
