Forum:Is there a hangout for QT users?

I am here because:

I'm a rogue player from way back, and I flirt with nethack once every few years. There is enough time in between nethack encounters to make it a giant effort to clone/build it and work out how I broke it again.

I like the QT interface (I used to play rogue on a green screen. But I'm not sure i could go back to just ascii. Even though there are colours now.) but in the previous release (from universe/games) it would somehow hang if you walked on a pile and weren't looking at the screen. It was too hard to find where to report this, or what to do about it.

Is there a place to find answers when you have tech issues? — Preceding unsigned comment added by August-Army (talkcontribs) 2026-05-04T05:38:44‎

Not many that I'd know off the top of my head - there's the #qt channel on libera.chat, I suppose. --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 01:41, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
Welcome again! I take it the Qt interface is not built by default for your OS? Bug reports go to the email address on the homepage, or the Github issue tracker. For tech support, go to Reddit or IRC. Joes 16:33, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
The mention of universe/games seems to imply a Debian-based Linux distribution. There is a nethack-qt package.--Ray Chason (talk) 17:59, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
