The scroll of elementalism is a type of scroll that appears in the Lethe patch, SpliceHack and Hack'EM.

Description

SpliceHack

A hero or monster reading a scroll of elementalism summons one or more elemental monsters, except for fusion elementals.[1] Reading the scroll while confused will instead summon one or more gas spores, flaming spheres, freezing spheres or shocking spheres, with an equal probability of each monster. The scroll is auto-identified if the hero can see the monsters produced by the scroll.

The amount of monsters summoned and their hostility depend on the scroll's beatitude, who reads it and whether or not they were confused:

Beatitude Number of monsters Monster hostility[2]
Hero reading Monster reading[3] Normal Confused
Normal Confused Normal Confused
Blessed 1 E 3-12 e 1 E 1-8 e 13 all hostile
23 all tame

Uncursed 1 E 3-12 e 1 E 1-8 e 12 all hostile

Cursed 2-4 E 1 e 1-8 E 1-8 e all hostile all hostile
