I don't know if this is right but when i was a Barbarian and read a scroll of destroy armor my armor went away but my AC did not go up, it stayed the same.

Armor doesn't always lower AC. Dwarfish and Orcish cloaks provide 0 AC. Burned/rusted/corroded armor can provide 0 AC if it gets sufficiently eroded. Negative enchantment can also provide a net AC change of 0. -- Qazmlpok 02:46, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Beginner - nothing in code indicates differing effects, just different messages sans armor

"If you are not a beginner", at the start of the Description section - except for a strange/normal feeling if not wearing armor (instead of your skin/bones itching), I can't find anything in the code causing different results for a beginner. Is there something I'm missing? -Actual-nh (talk) 00:57, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Source read and some quick wizmode testing confirms this. Beginner only affects identification when not wearing armor. It still destroys the armor of beginners. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 16:06, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

The detailed armor selection percentages

The detailed armor selection percentages are wrong, and have been wrong since they were added to the article. In some_armor, the chance of selecting each piece of armor is !rn2(4), 25%, not rn2(4), 75%.

Instead of recalculating the details, I am deleting them and copying the shorter text from scroll of enchant armor. The details are a maintenance burden and are also not important to player strategy. If they were important to player strategy, someone would have noticed and fixed the article or complained about the wrong information by now. Of course, there is a reference to source code for any source divers who want to see the details.

Problem solved - honestly, one of us could've probably asked around about this way earlier but I'll be happy to have this all out of the way. Just need to figure out where to stick it, might be able to stick it on the armor article. --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 12:51, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
