The Medallion of Shifters is the Doppelganger quest artifact in NetHack Plus and SLASH 6. Its base item is an amulet of ESP.
In addition to extrinsic telepathy, the Medallion grants protection from shape changers when worn. Invoking the Medallion returns the message "You feel more observant." and returns shape changers to their normal form, even if you are not wearing the amulet.
