Yes, I camped on dlvl 1 for 172801 turns, reached level 25 (by eating wraiths, my mistake) and got obliterated by evilhacks relentless player monsters, which can apparently mount monsters without a saddle. Casted summon nasties and thus suddenly had a silver dragon pet. This infidel player monster also cancelled me, damaged and cursed my armor, harmed my inventory and I basically gave up at that point and let it kill me. I am especially proud of the fact that I managed to extinct several monsters and I vanquished them all. Except for that infidel riding the silver dragon.
My current favorite variants are evilhack and dnethack/notdnethack. I love playing as an illithid convict in evilhack and as a vampiric madman in dnethack.
My ultimate goal is to extinct everything and dig out the entire dungeon, potentially even making every square a pit. And none of you can stop me.
The extinction game
I play by a set of rules because it feels like cheating otherwise.
- No genocide. Reverse genociding is allowed though.
- Be an atheist.
- No wishing for artifacts, unless you have reached lategame, piled up wishes and want to collect artifacts.
- Dig out every floor and light them up completely. Optionally convert every square into a pit.
Some hints which may make your game easier:
- Farming monsters via magic trap, bag of tricks or create monster is encouraged.
- Have a chest for all the loot they drop. Preferably two: one for all the useful stuff (potions, silver weapons, spellbooks) and one for the junk (rocks, weapons unsuitable for your role and race )
- Also helps against monsters re-using the dropped weapons and keeps the dungeon clean.
- Boulderfort your stash, lock the container containing it and place a blessed scroll of scare monster on it.
